No. Line cutters are replaced every six years. We will inspect them during your CAPS repack and replace them if necessary.
It is best to schedule the replacement six months prior to the expiration month. Because of lingering manufacturing, shipping and supply chain issues, parts are ordered several months prior to scheduled installation dates.
G1 - Two weeks to allow for paint and composite work
G2-G6 - Installation can be completed in three days, but a one-week buffer is recommended.
A logbook review can be beneficial but is not required.
G1 - $26,000
G2/G3 - $22,000
G3 - $21,000
G5 - $16,000
*Additional charges may apply if there is a required MCU Replacement $4,875 part/ $160/hr. labor. *Taxes are 6% for in-state; no tax for aircraft owned /registered out of state.
Parts will be ordered once a deposit for parts and shipping is received. The balance is due prior to or at the time of delivery. (Refer to the chart above for actual amounts).
The aircraft remains in a hangar during installation, but upon completion may be placed on the ramp for delivery. A G-1 may be flown to another facility for composite and paint. It will be hangared during those processes, but once it returns to our facility, it will be on the ramp awaiting pick-up.
If we are unable to accommodate hangar space, the Hawthorne FBO (770)422-3550 may be able to assist.
While we request parts delivery based on scheduled installation dates, Cirrus may experience delays in shipping. This may cause us to reschedule installation. In addition, bad weather may force a pilot to change the aircraft arrival day. We do our best to accommodate such unforeseen circumstances, adjust the schedule, and provide updates.
Yes, we will issue a refund minus the cost of any parts that we have received. We don’t recommend cancelling the order with Cirrus as you would lose your position in their queue. If another repair station would be installing the chute, we can coordinate with them regarding the remaining parts.
